Eddy Solbrandt – Chief Operating Officer KEFI Gold and Copper PLC
Eddy began his career in the mining industry in 1986 and has since worked in open cut and underground metalliferous mines, as well as in coal, gold and mineral sands in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia.
Eddy is founder of GPR Dehler, an independent, international management consultancy which specialises in productivity improvement for mining companies worldwide, especially in the areas of human resources development and performance improvement.
He is adept at providing swift assessment, analysis and development of solutions and strategies for achieving strategic, operational and financial objectives integrating process, people and technology. He is a seasoned facilitator experienced in designing and conducting interactive strategy workshops and overhauling organisational teams and the performance thereof.
Robert Williams - Technical Studies
Rob began his career in mining as an underground miner in 1978 and subsequently completed tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in Mining Engineering, Business Administration and Finance while working in every operational area and support function (in most cases at a leadership level) on a variety of mine sites from Bougainville (Rio - Copper) to Henty (Barrick - Gold) and some start-ups with the Executive Chairman as well, in Australia and Europe.
Norman Green - Project Director
Norman is a graduate mechanical and professional engineer with the key experience of having managed large mining and refining construction projects from concept to completion with more than 30 years’ experience in this field. Major projects include Hillside Aluminium smelter, the Skorpion Zinc project and the Husab Uranium mine as well as number of deep level underground mines. He also founded and built Green Team international (GTI) into a successful project engineering firm providing construction implementation and engineering support to mainly African mines.
Geoff Davidson – Principal Mining Engineer, Mine Contracting Co-ordinator
Geoff is based in Western Australia and has overseen mining engineering and planning for many gold developments similar to Tulu Kapi. He has over 25 years’ experience in surface and underground mining with many years as Principal Consultant for a variety of major mining consultancies. Geoff has also had significant tenures with Snowden, Brandrill and Mining and Cost Engineering.
Simon Cleghorn – Director KEFI Ethiopian Group
Simon started his career in Western Australia with Western Mining Corporation, arguably the world’s leading explorer-developer of its era. He is based in Armenia and his most recent assignments include Resources Manager for KEFI upon its launch into the Arabian Nubia Shield, Group Chief Geologist for Eurasian Resources Group in Kazakhstan, COO of Altinalmas in Kazakhstan.
Theron Brand - Director – KEFI Ethiopian Group
Theron began his career in the mining industry as a financial professional with the De Beers Group in Namibia in 1999 and has since gained extensive experience in diamond, gold and tin mining operations. He was involved in several mining projects within AngloGold Ashanti and others from early stages to completion, including the startup of new mines, as part of the management team. Theron joined Tulu Kapi Gold Mine in 2020 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Managing Director in early 2022.
Kebede Belete – Head of Ethiopia Exploration Strategy
Dr. Kebede Belete is a geologist with more than 25 years of experience. He has worked on exploration projects for the Ethiopian Ministry of Mines, Golden Prospect Mining Company, Minerva Resources and Nyota Minerals in roles including being Exploration Manager and Country Manager. Kebede has been involved with the Tulu Kapi gold project for more than 10 years.

Gold and Minerals Company in Saudi Arabia (GMCO)
KEFI has installed, monitored and supported the GMCO management team since that company was launched in 2008. GMCO now stands independently of KEFI support systems and reports to the GMCO Board via Chief Executive John Webster. KEFI’s Executive Chairman is on the GMCO Board of Directors alongside partner ARTAR’s senior directors, the former Saudi Deputy Minister for Mines and the former CEO of an international mining company.
